Scouting the Opponent
South Dakota State comes to Utah with a 5-1 record. Maria Boever (6.8) is the team's top rebounder, while Andrea Verdegan has a team-best 22 assists. Aaron Johnston in his eighth season at the helm, and owns a 175-56 all-time record.

A Brief Look at the Series
Wednesday will mark the first time that Utah and South Dakota State have tangled on the women's hardwood. Formerly the Mid-Continent Conference until last summer, The Summit League added three teams -- North Dakota State, South Dakota State and IPFW -- but Valparaiso opted to leave. Utah's record against current Summit League members is 12-1, with 11 of those meeting coming against in-state rival Southern Utah University (10-1). Utah is also 1-0 against IPFW and UMKC, respectively.
